I bind books by hand. I've always been attracted to this. My oldest brother taught me the art. At first, I'd help him with his work. I loved the colors he used and the rustic touch he gave to each of his designs. When I started crafting my own, I found it difficult to combine colors. My brother explained that the cover is the most important part of a notebook. It's the cover that inspires a person to write in it, the first thing they see. Some of my materials are recycled, like paper and scraps of leather that I use to reinforce the spirals. As a designer and artist, I've learned that our source of power is in letting the imagination fly free.
